Zapcage About the game

Zapcage privacy policy

Last updated: 7 November 2026

Zapcage is a game made by Dailey Christoffersen Consulting, a sole proprietorship in Norway, organization number 936 668 976 ("we"). This policy explains what information the game handles, and why.

The short version

  • You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or other contact details.
  • Your progress and settings are stored on your own device. We never receive them.
  • The game shows optional reward videos through Google AdMob. Google may collect information from your device to show and measure those ads, as described below.
  • Purchases are handled by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details.

Information stored on your device

The game saves your progress (shards, upgrades, levels reached, goals) and your settings (sound, music, vibration, and the year you were born) in the game's own storage on your device. This information is not sent to us. Removing the game removes it. Android may include it in your device's own backup, if you have backup turned on, under Google's terms for that service.

Ads

The game offers short reward videos, which you choose to watch, for example to get ten more seconds or double shards. They are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google.

To show ads, limit how often they appear, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect:

  • your device's advertising ID,
  • your IP address and the approximate location it reveals,
  • information about your device and the app, such as model, operating system and language,
  • how you interact with the ads.

If you are 18 or older and live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown, through a message provided by Google. You can change your choice at any time from Settings in the game. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalized ads, which use less information.

You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings.

How Google uses this information is described in Google's own policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Purchases

If you buy something in the game, the payment is handled by Google Play under Google's terms. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made, so the game can unlock it, but never your card number or other payment details.

Children and young players

Zapcage is made for players from 9 years old. The first time you press Start, the game asks for the year you were born. Only the year is stored, on your device, and it is never sent to us.

  • Under 13: the game asks Google for ads that are suitable for children and not personalized, under Google's rules for child-directed treatment. The consent message is not shown.
  • From 13 to 17: the game tells Google that you are under the age of consent, so the ads are not personalized. The consent message is not shown.
  • 18 and over: ads work as described above.

If the year is not known, the game treats you as a child. In-app purchases on Google Play can be limited by a parent through Google Family Link.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access, correct and delete personal data about you, and to object to its use. We do not hold personal data about players ourselves. For data collected by Google for ads, you can use Google's tools at https://myaccount.google.com or contact Google. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
